MERIEL O’CONNELL is a director based in Los Angeles, native to North Carolina. Her work exhibits her love of narrative storytelling, especially focusing on LGBTQIA+ and underrepresented voices. In her music video work, O'Connell works with artists across genres, as her outgoing nature and experience as a musician herself allows her to get to know each musician with attention and care. Her fascination with analog film sparked her joy and journey as a director, and she works across both digital and film formats. Coming from a line of musicians, O'Connell's musical knowledge and insight allows her to open up songs and give them a real visual heartbeat in the videos she directs. O’Connell has worked with artists from across the globe, from Demi Lovato to Australia-based band, The Apartments. Her work inspires new, visual worlds of listening. She currently resides in Los Angeles, California.
